It’s your daughter’s chance to share the spotlight with the special grown-up in her life! Grown-ups and dancers have the chance to attend up to 1 in-studio rehearsal together to learn their dance and also practice at home with their online video. All practice classes and rehearsals are closed to spouses! Don’t worry – we’ll take good care of them, and it makes for an AWESOME surprise!
Grown-ups will receive a SPECIAL flower bouquet to give to their dancer for letting them share the moment with their dancer. It’s an event you WON’T want to miss!

Frequently Asked Questions

May 12th at 5:00pm
1. Does it have to be a parent?
No. Grandparents, Uncles/Aunts, Older siblings, or a family friend can substitute! Your partner must be at least 16 years of age.
2. What if they can’t make it to all the studio practices?
It’s not necessary to attend them all – we encourage the grown-ups and daughters to attend at least ONE together, but even with only one, it’s important to practice at home so that everyone is comfortable on stage!
3. What if my child doesn’t seem to want to do the dance even in practice classes?
A child’s response in class and on stage can be very different. We recommend carefully considering if your child will likely do well before registering, as the registration fee is non-refundable. It is required that children be at least 2.5 years of age to participate. The Daddy/Daughter dance is an experience that will last a lifetime and spending time at rehearsal and working through difficult situations with your daughter is as significant as performing the actual dance. Try to remember this important fact when you feel confused, frustrated and tired so this can be the best experience possible.
4. How does it work with Grown-up's backstage?
Grown-ups will be directed where to go and what to do via email communication and at rehearsal in the weeks leading up to the show. Grown-ups will all meet at the stage doors right before the performance and we will bring their daughters to them. Don't worry - we walk them through everything before the show!
5. Will Grown-up's still be able to watch the show?
YES! We know this is what you are here for! The Sweetheart Dance is one of the first numbers, so that grown-ups can re-join their families in the audience.
